OPW To Host Architecture Tours During Open House Dublin 2026

Ireland's largest architecture festival marks its 21st year this October, with the Office of Public Works set to run guided tours at landmark sites across Dublin.

As part of Open House Dublin 2026, the OPW will welcome the public to a series of tours at OPW-managed locations including Pearse Museum, St. Enda's Park, the Custom House Visitor Centre, the National Botanic Gardens, Glasnevin, the Four Courts, Rathfarnham Castle, the Irish National War Memorial Gardens and Kilmainham Gaol.

Throughout the festival, buildings and public spaces across the city open their doors, giving people fresh perspectives on Dublin's built environment.

Minister of State with responsibility for the OPW, Kevin "Boxer" Moran said: "The Open House Dublin Festival is a great opportunity for the public to visit OPW sites across the city and learn about these historic buildings through an architectural lens and celebrate what makes Dublin so special. I am delighted to have been invited to officially launch this unique festival this year, and I encourage the public to get involved and experience architecture and heritage on display."

The festival invites people to explore, question and join conversations about the places where they live. Through tours, workshops and exhibitions, it brings together the public, architects, communities and cultural organisations to share ideas about heritage, place-making and the city's future.

Its programme is designed to broaden engagement with architecture and the built environment, recognising that a more inclusive city begins when more people can experience it, understand it and have a say in how it develops.

The OPW, working in collaboration with the Irish Architecture Foundation (IAF), shares a commitment to making architecture and the built environment accessible to all.

Through this public engagement, Open House Dublin highlights the role that architecture and culture play in shaping a more connected, sustainable and participatory city.
