Ministers Naughton And Moynihan Congratulate Junior Cycle Students On Results Day

Nearly 74,000 students have received their Junior Cycle examination results today, with Minister for Education and Youth Hildegarde Naughton and Minister of State for Special Education and Inclusion Michael Moynihan offering their congratulations.

The ministers praised students' effort and resilience over the past three years and acknowledged the support of families, teachers, special needs assistants and school communities. The State Examinations Commission was also thanked for administering the exams and results process.

Minister Naughton said: "Today is an important day for the 73,879 young people across the country as they receive their Junior Cycle results, and I want to congratulate each and every student on reaching this goal.

"These results reflect the hard work, commitment and resilience you have shown throughout your Junior Cycle journey. Whether you receive the results you hoped for or not, it is important to remember that these grades are just one part of your story. Your talents, interests and determination will continue to shape your future in many different ways.

"Over the last three years, you have developed new skills, built friendships, learned from challenges and grown in confidence. Those experiences will stand to you as you continue your education and pursue your ambitions.

"I also want to acknowledge the support of parents, guardians, families, teachers, special needs assistants and entire school communities, whose encouragement and guidance have helped students reach this point. Finally, I would like to thank the State Examinations Commission and all those involved in delivering the examinations and results process."

Minister Moynihan said: "Congratulations to the thousands of students receiving their results today, and particularly those with special education needs. There are many people who have supported, guided and encouraged you throughout the past three years of Junior Cycle and I also want to acknowledge them today.

"Results day is one milestone among many. I wish you all the very best as you continue with your education journey, and continue to reach your potential."
