Gardaí Arrest Suspected Member Of Drug Trafficking Ring
Gardaí have arrested a man in connection with a drug trafficking ring that police have been targeting internationally
A European-wide investigation into the activities of a Lithuanian drug's trafficking gang has culminated in the arrest of a 32 year-old man in Co Offaly.
The Garda National Drugs Unit and Revenue’s Customs Service carried out the joint operation on Monday.
The male was arrested at Birr, Co Offaly and Cocaine and Herbal Cannabis with a potential street value of €500,000 was seized.
The man is currently being detained at Tullamore Garda Station and follow up searches were carried out in Cork, Kerry and Meath. This arrest in the latest in 'Operation Chestnut', an investigation set up to target east European drugs trafficking gangs impacting on Ireland.

Four Arrested In Ongoing Drugs Crackdown
Gardaí have revealed this morning that an additional four people have been arrested in connection with drugs finds in Dublin since yesterday. The latest details of arrests come shortly after it was revealed a man and woman were arrested in the Stillorgan area of Dublin after a major drug find yesterday afternoon.

Two men have been arrested in connection with the seizure of a quantity of drugs in Dublin over the last two days. Gardai arrested the two men, 60 and 40 years-old, and seized a quantity of drugs in the operation targeting the sale and supply of drugs in the Dublin area.

Separate Operations Turn Up €500,000 Of Drugs
Two separate Gardaí operations conducted yesterday have recovered almost half a million euro in illegal drugs. In the first operation last night, Gardaí from the North Central Drugs Unit in Dublin carried out a search of a car at Bellewstown Co Meath. During the course of the search, 3kg of Cocaine was discovered.

Arrest Made In €60,000 Cannabis Seizure
A man was being questioned by Gardaí in Cork last night following the seizure of drugs worth a suspected €60,000 in a house near Blarney, Co Cork. The man, understood to be in his early 30s, was arrested when gardaí searched the house and found 3kg of cannabis herb.
