Third Man Arrested Over Dublin Drug Seizure

A third man has been arrested in connection with the Dublin drug operation that saw the seizure of over €1.6million worth of cannabis.

Investigating Gardai that discovered the cache this week have announced this morning they have arrested a third man in Dublin City centre as part of a follow up operation.

The 23-year-old man is detained under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act at the Bridewell Garda Station in Dublin.

Gardaí revealed yesterday they had arrested two men in connection with the seizure of a quantity of drugs in Dublin after searches at the start of this week.

Gardai arrested the two men, 60 and 40 years-old, and seized a quantity of drugs in the operation targeting the sale and supply of drugs in the Dublin area. According to a Gardaí spokesman, a van was stopped on Tuesday in the Arran Quay area of Dublin City centre.

Gardai seized 200 kgs of what is believed to cannabis resin, which is believed to be worth approximately €1.4 million. The driver of the van, a 60-year-old man, was arrested and is detained at The Bridewell Garda Station under section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.

At 10.00pm on Wednesday, as part of a follow up operation, Gardai searched a premises at an industrial estate near Rathcoole. A further quantity of cannabis was recovered. Gardaí said that subject to analysis the street value of the seizure is estimated to be €400,000.

A 40-year-old man was arrested at the scene. He is detained under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act at Clondalkin Garda Station.

Gardaí said they believe they have disrupted the activities of a major west Dublin crime gang.

Gardaí Arrest 45 In Major Drugs Operation
A total of 45 people have been arrested in the past 48 hours in Gardaí a crackdown on the sale and supply of heroin and “crack” cocaine in the Dublin region. The operation, which involved Garda drug units from Kevin Street, Pearse Street and Store Street stations, resulted in 150 charges being brought, according to Gardaí this morning.

Two Arrested In Connection With Dublin Drug Supply
Two men have been arrested in Dublin as part of a gardaí investigation into the supply of drugs in the city. Gardaí said the men, from Eastern Europe, were arrested by the Ballymun Drugs Unit in an underground car park on Tuesday night. Man Arrested Over Dublin Drug Seizure
