Separate Operations Turn Up €500,000 Of Drugs
Two separate Gardaí operations conducted yesterday have recovered almost half a million euro in illegal drugs.
In the first operation last night, Gardaí from the North Central Drugs Unit in Dublin carried out a search of a car at Bellewstown Co Meath.
During the course of the search, 3kg of Cocaine was discovered. A 52-year-old man was subsequently arrested and is currently detained at Store St Garda Station under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.
In a follow up search at a premises on Oxmantown Road, Dublin 7, 10kg of Cannabis was recovered.
The total amount of drugs seized during the operation has a potential street value of €300,000.
In a separate search, as part of an ongoing operation targeting drug dealing in the Ballyfermot area of Dublin, detectives carried out a search of a premises in the Cloverhill area at around 7.30pm yesterday evening.
During the course of the search 1kg of Heroin with a potential street value of €200,000 was seized.
A 45-year-old man has been arrested and is currently detained at Ballyfermot Garda Station under Section 2 Drug Trafficking Act.

A woman has been arrested in connection with a large scale drug seizure in Co Roscommon. During a search operation at a house in the Lanesborough area, drugs worth approximately €100,000 were seized. The seizure included around 40 cannabis plants worth around €32,000, cannabis herb worth around €75,000 and €300 worth of cocaine.

Officers from the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau made the seizure when they stopped a vehicle in Ballyfermot on Thursday afternoon. A follow-up search was also carried out in Dublin 20, garda said.
