19-Year-Old Seriously Injured In Co Longford Crash

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to a serious road traffic accident in Ferefad, Co Longford on Sunday, 09 August.

A 19-year-old man was seriously injured with the car he was travelling in collided with a ditch on the Ferefad to Ballymacormack road at about 03:50.

The driver of the car and four other passengers were uninjured in the crash.

Witnesses to the collision are asked to contact Longford Garda station on 043 3350570, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.

Help Sought Following Assault On Woman
Witnesses are being sought after a woman was seriously assaulted last Thursday night in Co Limerick. Gardaí at Roxboro Road Garda Station in the city are investigating the serious assault and are looking for the publics help. The incident took place on Thursday 29th May, between 12.30am and 2.00am.

Shots Fired At House In Longford Town
A number of shots were fired at a house outside Longford town last night. Nobody was injured and minor damage was caused to the house on the Dublin Road. The attack happened just before midnight. It is believed the incident is the latest in a series of attacks, in connection with a feud between families and travellers in the area.

Teen Girl Seriously Assaulted In Co Longford
A woman in her late teens has been seriously assaulted in County Longford, Gardaí have revealed on Friday. Officers at Edgeworthstown said they are appealing for witnesses in relation to the serious assault, which occurred at Tinnynarr, Edgeworthstown, Co Longford at approximately 10am on Wednesday.

A firearm and a quantity of drugs have been seized by garda as part of an operation targeting criminal activity in Co Longford. A shotgun and ammunition were seized from a house in the Ballymahon area.

Helicopter Crash Pilot Arrested
Gardaí have arrested the pilot of a helicopter that crash landed next to a public house in Abbeyshrule on suspicion of endangerment. The pilot, a man in his 60s, and his passenger escaped the crash on Wednesday night with cuts and bruises.
