Teen Girl Seriously Assaulted In Co Longford

A woman in her late teens has been seriously assaulted in County Longford, Gardaí have revealed on Friday.

Officers at Edgeworthstown said they are appealing for witnesses in relation to the serious assault, which occurred at Tinnynarr, Edgeworthstown, Co Longford at approximately 10am on Wednesday.

The female in her late teens was seriously assaulted in a field, which is on the Longford side of Edgeworthstown. She was taken to the Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar and treated for her injuries. A male in his 30s was arrested and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at Longford Garda Station and has since been released without charge.
