Shots Fired At House In Longford Town

A number of shots were fired at a house outside Longford town last night.

Nobody was injured and minor damage was caused to the house on the Dublin Road.

The attack happened just before midnight.

It is believed the incident is the latest in a series of attacks, in connection with a feud between families and travellers in the area.

Gardai in the midlands are currently carrying out investigations.

Two Charged Over Alvor Killing
A teenager and another male have appeared in court in Portugal charged in connection with the death of a Londonderry businessman in the Algarve earlier this month. The accused, aged 19 and 26 and from Brazil, were charged with homicide and robbery. The 26-year-old was remanded in custody while the 19-year-old was placed under partial house arrest.

Donegal House Fire Claims Two Lives
Two lives have been lost following the second fatal house fire in Ireland in the last week. Police said two people died when a fire tore through a home in County Donegal last night. It is believed the blaze broke out around 10pm at the Killygordon property on Cavan Lower. A Garda spokesman said two people were pronounced dead at the scene.
