Status Yellow Rainfall Warning Issued Across 11 Counties

Met Éireann have issued a Status Yellow weather warning for rain across 11 counties.

The warning, which came into effect at 7am this morning, is in place for Dublin, Kildare, Laois, Longford, Louth, Wicklow, Offaly, Westmeath, Meath, Cavan and Monaghan. The warning will remain in place until 6am tomorrow, when it will be reviewed.

Between 30 to 35mm of rainfall is expected with highs of 16 degrees. Some of the showers may turn heavy and thundery.

Met Éireann said that while rain is expected again tomorrow, some bright or sunny spells will also develop.

Met Éireann has issued a 'yellow' weather warning for torrential rain in the west of Ireland, affecting counties Galway, Mayo, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Limerick. Heavy rain in western areas is due to spread eastwards today, with a clearance developing in the west later this afternoon.
