Fatal Stabbing In Mayo

A man has died during a knife attack in the centre of County Mayo.

A 24-year-old male died after being stabbed on, or near, Main Street Rear, which is a laneway off the Main Street in Kiltimagh at approximately 12.45am this morning.

Gardaí at Swinford are investigating the fatal attack, in which a number of people are believed to have been involved.

The body of the man, who is yet to be identified, remains at the scene.

The services of the State Pathologist and the Garda Technical Bureau have been requested.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who may have been in this area between midnight and 1am this morning, to contact the Gardaí at Swinford on 094 9252990, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

Appeal For Witnesses To Early Morning Shooting In Dublin
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to a shooting in Dublin this morning. According to garda a man was shot just after 9am on Thursday morning on Clonard Street. The victim has been taken to hospital but no details of his condition have been released. The scene of the shooting has been sealed off pending a technical examination.

Man Arrested After Cannabis Plants Seized In Co Limerick
A man has been arrested after cannabis plants were seized by gardaí in Limerick. The plants are believed to be worth an estimated street value of €115,000. Gardaí carried out the planned search at a house in Bruff on Monday. The man, in his 20s, is being detained at Bruff Garda Station.
