Man Killed During Dublin Shootout

A man has died in a shootout involving a criminal gang and the police in Dublin.

A second man has also been injured during an attempted raid on a cash-in-transit van.

Gardaí from the Organised Crime Unit say they intercepted an armed criminal group at Foxborough Road, Lucan, Co Dublin just after 12pm today.

The dead man was one of two suspected raiders shot during the foiled raid.

A Gardaí spokesman said: "During the incident a number of shots were fired and two men were injured. One of the men has since died in hospital. The State Pathologist has been contacted."

Four men aged in their 20s have been arrested and are currently being detained in Lucan and Ronanstown Garda Stations.

At least one sawn-off shotgun has been recovered, along with a stolen car.

The Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission has confirmed that it is are now investigating the incident.

Three In Court Following Tipperary Attack
Three of the five men arrested in relation to the shooting and stabbing of two men in Tipperary yesterday are appearing in Roscrea District Court this Thursday morning. The other two men were released without charge and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions regarding their detentions.

Missing Man Found 'Safe And Well'
A missing 24-year-old man has been found "safe and well". Alex Sherwin had been reported missing on Sunday, with garda issuing a public appeal for assistance. No information on Mr Sherwin's whereabouts have been released, but garda said the investigation had now ended. They thanked the public for their help.

Two Held Over Cavan ATM Raid
Two men have been detained in connection with the attempted raid of an ATM machine in Co Cavan. Gardaí revealed this morning that the two men were arrested on Mondayat approximately 10am. One man, aged 41, was arrested in the Newbliss area of County Monaghan while the second man, aged 42, was arrested in the Dublin area.

Third Man Arrested Over Dublin Drug Seizure
A third man has been arrested in connection with the Dublin drug operation that saw the seizure of over €1.6million worth of cannabis. Investigating Gardai that discovered the cache this week have announced this morning they have arrested a third man in Dublin City centre as part of a follow up operation.

Over €2m Worth Of Drugs Seized In Dublin
More than €2 million worth of drugs have been seized by Gardaí in Donaghmede, Dublin. Cannabis resin, cannabis herb and cocaine, worth and estimated €2.1 million were seized as part of an operation targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs in North Dublin.
