Baby Dies In Window Fall In Cork
A 22-month-old baby girl has died after falling from the third-storey window of a house in Cork City.
It is understood that the child was found on the footpath outside the house on Hardwick Street by a passing motorist around 12:30pm on Sunday.
She had suffered severe head injuries and was taken to the Mercy University Hospital where she died in the early hours of Monday morning.
Emergency services informed the girl's parents, who are originally from Bangladesh, of the tragedy.
Gardai said that the death is not being treated as suspicious, saying that they believe the child wandered into the room without her parents' knowledge and fell out of the window.

Pensioner Dies After Window Fall
The funeral of an elderly widow who fell to her death from a second floor window is taking place this morning. Maura Looney died shortly after 7.30am on Friday when she fell onto external railings from the second floor of the Care Choice nursing home on the Middle Glanmire Road in Montenotte on the north side of Cork city.
