Gardaí Appeal For Information On Fatal Road Crash In Co Westmeath

Gardaí have appealed for information on a fatal road traffic accident near Mullingar, Co Westmeath on Saturday morning.

Three women and a ten-year-old girl died when a car and an SUV collided near Portnashangan, just north of Mullingar on the main N4 Dublin to Sligo road at about 07:30am on Saturday.

An investigation into the crash is underway and gardaí have asked for anyone in the area between 7am and 8am to contact them.

It is understood that the three women and the child were travelling together in the car. The driver of the SUV was treated at Mullingar General Hospital for minor injuries.

Man Killed In Dublin Road Crash
Gardaí have launched an investigation following a fatal road crash in Dublin on 16 May. The collision, which occurred on the main Dublin to Longford Road N4, occurred at approximately 11.10pm. It is understood the crash involved a car and a minibus. A man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to the morgue at Mullingar Hospital.

Witness Appeal Following Fatal Road Traffic Collision In Co Longford
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision in Co Longford on Sunday, 17 July. An 18-year-old male was fatally injured when the car he was travelling in, as a front seat passenger, collided with a tractor at approximately 11.50pm in Cloonart, Bornacoola. The man was pronounced dead at Mullingar Hospital.

Man Appears In Court Over Gardai Assaults
A 38-year-old Drogheda man has appeared before a special sitting of Mullingar District Court charged in relation to assaults on two gardaí in the early hours of Monday morning. The man was alleged to have assaulted the female gardaí at about 3am on George’s Street, Drogheda, Co Louth.

Eight Arrested In Dundalk Murder Inquiry
Gardaí investigating the murder of Aidan Myers in Dundalk last year have arrested eight people. Six men and two women were arrested this morning. It is understood that four men, aged 19 and 26, are being questioned in relation to Mr Myers' murder, while two men and two women are being questioned on suspicion of withholding information.
