Baby Girl Dies After Fall From Third-Floor Window

A 22-month-old girl has died after falling from the window of a third-floor apartment in Finglas, Dublin.

Gardaí have launched an investigation into the incident, which happened at around 9.30am on Sunday morning at Tolka Vale Apartments on Finglas Road.

After noticing that she was missing, the girl's parents found her on the ground outside the apartment block and took her by taxi to the Mater Hospital. The girl was pronounced dead at around 10.30am, according to gardaí.

An investigation is underway to try and establish the exact circumstances surrounding the death, but it is believed that she may have crawled into her brother's bedroom and fell from an open window.

A post-mortem will be carried this week.
