Investigation After Elderly Couple Found Dead In Donegal Home

Gardaí have launched an investigation in County Donegal following the deaths of an elderly couple.

The pair, discovered at a house in Fountain Terrace, Convoy, were last seen yesterday afternoon.

The man was in his 80's and the woman in her 70's.

A post-mortem examination will be carried out, but no suspicious circumstances are clear as yet.

The scene was sealed off for forensic examination.

Elderly Couple Found Dead In Churchtown
An investigation has been launched following the discovery of the bodies of an elderly man and woman in Churchtown, Dublin, on Monday night. Gardaí found the bodies after responding to a report of concern for the man and woman's welfare. The bodies have been removed to Tallaght Hospital where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.

Elderly Couple Found Dead In Donegal
Two people have been found dead at a property in Carndonagh, Co Donegal, gardaí have said. Shortly after 9am on Thursday, detectives were called to the house. They found the bodies of a man and woman, both believed to be in their 70s, at the property. A hatchet was found at the scene.

89-Year-Old Attack Victim Dies
An 89-year-old woman who was the victim of an assault by burglars in July has died in hospital. Suzy Arthur was attacked by thieves posing as painters. She and her sister 91-year-old sister Isa were assaulted on 1 July at their home at Tullyrap, near Raphoe. A gang of men had approached the women, offering to paint their house.

Elderly Man Dies In Galway House Fire
Gardaí in Co Galway have reported the death of a 73-year-old man in a house fire. Clifden fire service was called to the scene of a house fire at around 23:30 on Monday night. The man's body was discovered in the house, where he lived alone. The scene has been preserved pending a technical examination, due to be carried out this morning.
