Two Arrested After Irishman Seriously Attacked In Australia

Two men have been arrested after an Irishman was seriously assaulted in Australia in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Jason Cierans was punched in the head outside a nightclub in Sydney sat approximately 1am.

Mr Cierans, 29, originally from Cork, suffered serious head injuries during the attack outside a Bondi Junction club.

He has been put ino a medically induced coma at St Vincent's Hospital.

A 27-year-old was charged with affray and granted conditional bail to appear in Waverley Local Court on 24 September.

A 30-year-old man was charged with recklessly causing grievous bodily harm. He was refused bail.

Man Seriously Attacked In Co Limerick
An investigation has been launched after a man was seriously attacked in County Limerick on Monday. The incident occurred in Newcastle West at around 2.15am. The man suffered a serious head injury and is currently being treated in hospital. Gardai are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

A 20-year-old has appeared at Dublin District Court charged in connection with the attempted abduction of a woman in Dublin. The woman, 69, was attacked from behind on the morning of Monday, 06 January, as she walked on Blackhorse Avenue.

Man Seriously Assaulted In Galway
Gardai have launched an investigation after a man was seriously assaulted in Galway on Sunday. The attack, between a number of youths, happened outside a fast food outlet on Shop Street at around 3.30am. The victim sustained a serious head injury and is believed to be in a critical condition at the University Hospital Galway.

Man Seriously Injured In Dublin Shooting
A man is being treated in hospital after receiving serious injures in a shooting attack in Cabra, Dublin. The incident happened on the Killala Road at around 7.30pm on Sunday. The 54-year-old victim, who is known to gardaí, was shot a number of times when he was walking his dog. He is in a serious condition at the Mater Hospital.
