Man Seriously Assaulted In Galway

Gardai have launched an investigation after a man was seriously assaulted in Galway on Sunday.

The attack, between a number of youths, happened outside a fast food outlet on Shop Street at around 3.30am.

The victim sustained a serious head injury and is believed to be in a critical condition at the University Hospital Galway.

The scene has been preserved for technical examination.

Garda are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

A man is in critical condition after being seriously assaulted in Carric on Shannon during the early hours of Sunday morning. Gardaí at Carrick-on-Shannon said they were investigating the serious assault that occured at 3.30am on Sunday December 18 in the Townparks area of the town.

Man Seriously Injured In Road Accident
A pensioner remains in a serious condition in hospital after he was hit by a vehicle in Waterford City yesterday. The 81-year-old man was struck by a 4a4 vehicle on the Cork Road at approximately 2.30pm. He is believed to be in a serious condition in Waterford Regional Hospital. Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.

Missing Galway Man Found 'Safe And Well'
Gardaí in Galway have reported that John Moyles has been found "safe and well". The 23-year-old, from the Rahoon area of Galway, was reported missing on Sunday. It is understood that he was found in the Dublin area. Garda have thanked the public for their help.

Man Seriously Injured In Dublin Shooting
A man is being treated in hospital after receiving serious injures in a shooting attack in Cabra, Dublin. The incident happened on the Killala Road at around 7.30pm on Sunday. The 54-year-old victim, who is known to gardaí, was shot a number of times when he was walking his dog. He is in a serious condition at the Mater Hospital.
