Viable IED Found Under Car In South Dublin

A viable explosive device has been found under a car in south Dublin.

According to the Irish Independent, a viable IED (improvised explosive device) was found under a car in the Glenshane area of Jobstown in Tallaght, south Dublin.

The Army Bomb Disposal Team were called at around 21:25 and a number of residents evacuated from their homes.

The device was made safe without the use of a controlled explosion. It was later removed to a military location to undergo a technical examination.

An investigation is underway.

Two Arrested In Connection With Dublin Drug Supply
Two men have been arrested in Dublin as part of a gardaí investigation into the supply of drugs in the city. Gardaí said the men, from Eastern Europe, were arrested by the Ballymun Drugs Unit in an underground car park on Tuesday night. Embattled Independent TD Mick Wallace now faces another bill of €140 after his four-wheel drive BMW was towed from the Aer Lingus staff car park. Mr Wallace, spotted in the departure lounge of Dublin Airport last Friday, left his BMW illegally parked in the Aer Lingus staff car park.

Two Men Arrested Over Hatchet Robberies In South Dublin
Two men have been arrested in connection with separate robberies in Tallaght. Two robberies were carried out in the South Dublin town on Tuesday afternoon, one at a post office in Glenview at about 16:15 and another at a shop on Old Bawn Way at about 16:40.
