Two Men Arrested Over Hatchet Robberies In South Dublin

Two men have been arrested in connection with separate robberies in Tallaght.

Two robberies were carried out in the South Dublin town on Tuesday afternoon, one at a post office in Glenview at about 16:15 and another at a shop on Old Bawn Way at about 16:40.

In both robberies staff were threatened by a man armed with a hatchet, before making off with a sum of money.

Garda responding to the robbery reports arrested two men, aged 32 and 34, following a short foot chase.

A car, hatchet and sum of money were also recovered.

The car and both crime scenes were preserved to allow for a forensic examination.

Two Men Arrested Following Armed Robbery In Dublin
Gardai have arrested two men in connection with an armed robbery at a petrol station in Dublin on Tuesday evening. The robbery occurred on the Stillorgan Road in Blackrock at around 6.30pm. The men, armed with a gun and a hammer, threatened staff and demanded money. They fled the scene with a sum of cash.

Appeals Follow Cash In Transit Robberies
Two separate cash in transit robberies that took place yesterday have sparked appeals for witnesses to come forward. In the latest incident, Gardaí have launched an investigation into a robbery from a security man who was in the process of collecting cash from a shop at Century Business Park, Meakstown, Dublin, at about 2pm yesterday.

Three Men Arrested In Connection With Post Office Raid Released Without Charge
Three men arrested in connection with an attempted robbery of a Dublin post office have been released without charge. It is understood three masked suspects armed with knives, a crowbar and other implements entered the building on Leonard's Corner at around 12:30pm yesterday, 03 December.
