Man On Run Following Armed Robbery In Co Kildare

A man has been arrested and another is on the run following an armed robbery in Co Kildare on Sunday morning.

Staff at a shop on Johnstown were held up by two men armed with a firearm, just after 08:15, escaping with a sum of cash.

One of the men was arrested near the scene a short time later. He is being held at Naas Garda Station.

Gardaí also recovered a handgun and a sum of cash.

The second man escaped in a car, which was later found by gardaí.

They have appealed for witnesses or anyone with information about the second man to contact them in Naas on 045-884300 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800666111.

Witness Appeal Following Armed Robbery In Kildare
Gardaí have issued an appeal for witnesses following an armed robbery in Athy, Co Kildare. A man carrying a hand gun entered a shop in the Dunbrin area of Athy at around 4pm on Friday, 12 August. After threatening staff and demanding money, he left the scene with a sum of cash. No one was injured during the incident.

Search Ongoing For Armed Robber
Garda have appealed for information following the armed robbery of a shop in Rathfarnham on Thursday evening. It is understood that a man entered a Centra Store on Main Street just after 17:00 and threatened staff with a handgun. No one was injured in the incident but the man fled the scene with an undisclosed sum of money.

Three In Court Following Tipperary Attack
Three of the five men arrested in relation to the shooting and stabbing of two men in Tipperary yesterday are appearing in Roscrea District Court this Thursday morning. The other two men were released without charge and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions regarding their detentions.

Man Dies In Stabbing Incident
A 30-year-old has died and a second man has been injured in a stabbing incident in Tullamore, Co Offaly, shortly after 7am this morning. It is believed there had been an argument in a house in the area and a Polish man was killed. The other man's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Two Men Arrested Following Armed Robbery In Dublin
Gardai have arrested two men in connection with an armed robbery at a petrol station in Dublin on Tuesday evening. The robbery occurred on the Stillorgan Road in Blackrock at around 6.30pm. The men, armed with a gun and a hammer, threatened staff and demanded money. They fled the scene with a sum of cash.
