Two Held In Human Trafficking Investigation

Two people have been arrested following planned Garda searches in Dublin, Dundalk and Athlone as part of Operation Quest.

The man and woman are being questioned as part of an investigation into human trafficking.

They are being held in Clondalkin Garda Station.

A second man was detained at Athlone Garda Station but has since been released without charge.

A number of items were seized as evidence, including mobile phones, electronic devices and documentation.

Operation Quest aims to identify potential victims of human trafficking.

The investigation team are liaising with Europol, Interpol, The Police Service of Northern Ireland, The Human Trafficking Centre Central Investigations Bureau, Warsaw, Poland and the Serious Organised Crime Agency, United Kingdom with a view to identifying further potential victims.

Over €1M Cannabis Seized In Dublin
Over €1M worth of cannabis has been seized in two separate drug finds in Dublin over the weekend. In the latest incident, Gardai seized a quantity of Herbal Cannabis and arrested a woman in her 40's on Sunday night after an operation by detectives from the Garda National Drugs Unit, Pearse Street Drugs Unit and Revenue Customs Service.

Separate Operations Turn Up €500,000 Of Drugs
Two separate Gardaí operations conducted yesterday have recovered almost half a million euro in illegal drugs. In the first operation last night, Gardaí from the North Central Drugs Unit in Dublin carried out a search of a car at Bellewstown Co Meath. During the course of the search, 3kg of Cocaine was discovered.

Arrests Follow Dublin Drugs Seizure
Two men have been arrested in connection with the seizure of a quantity of drugs in Dublin over the last two days. Gardai arrested the two men, 60 and 40 years-old, and seized a quantity of drugs in the operation targeting the sale and supply of drugs in the Dublin area.
