Man Arrested During Naas Drug Seizure
A man has been arrested in County Kildare after the seizure of a quantity of class A drugs.
Gardai made the arrest and seized a quantity of cocaine following a search operation in Naas, Co.Kildare last night.
During the planned operation, Gardai from the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the Organised Crime Unit and local Gardai from Naas carried out a search of a house at Laken View in Naas at 10.30 pm on Wednesday night.
A kilo and a half of what is believed to be cocaine was seized in the operation. The drugs, subject to analysis, have an estimated street value of €100,000.
A 34-year-old man was arrested and is detained at Naas Garda Station, under the Drug Trafficking Act. A Gardaí spokesman said he can be detained for up to seven days.
Meawhile, Gardaí in Sligo have taken a report of the loss of dangerous drugs in the Sligo Town centre area also last night.
Gardaí say the lost medication is Clozaril and comprises of 12 by 100mg and 48 by 25mg tablets. The medication is yellow in colour and housed on blister type cards. A Sligo Gardaí spokesman said the medication is prescribed for a certain condition and if taken unsupervised it is extremely dangerous.

Drugs worth an estimated €7m have been seized in three connected raids undertaken by the garda national drugs unit against a major drugs trafficking gang. The first seizure came when armed officers stopped and searched two cars on the outskirts of Naas. 35kg of heroin, diamorphine and cocaine, with a street value of up to €5.

Body Found In Burnt Out Car 'Not Suspicious'
The body of a woman has been found in a burnt out car in Co Kildare. Gardaí have said that the body was discovered at around 11:30 today in a vehicle on a car park in Eadestown. However, garda added that they believe the death to have been a "personal tragedy" and are not treating it as suspicious.
