Three Arrested After Pharmacy Raids

Three men have been arrested after a spate of raids on a number of pharmacies in Limerick and Tipperary.

The men were held after a high-speed chase with gardaí in the Drombanna area of Co Limerick at around 1.20am.

During the incident the patrol car was rammed but no officers were injured.

Gardaí said four premises were targeted - two in the village of Hospital, Co Limerick, a third in Castleconnell, and a fourth in Emly, Co Tipperary.

It is not yet known if anything was taken.

Gardaí are understood to be seeking a fourth man who they believe may have taken part in the raids. The men are being held at garda stations in Limerick City on suspicion of burglary.

One of the men is being questioned in Roxboro Road garda station and the other two at Henry Street.

PSNI Investigating Fatal Collision Near Bready, Co Tyrone
An investigation has been launched following a fatal road traffic collision near Bready, Co Tyrone. At around 1.40pm on Sunday, 07 April, police responded to a report of a single vehicle collision on the Victoria Road. Two men have been arrested and a "significant amount of cash" has been seized in a series of raids across Limerick. Officers from the Criminal Assets Bureau were support by local garda in raids on 11 premises as part of an investigation targeting an organised criminal gang in Co Limerick.

Gang Attack Three Elderly Siblings
Three elderly siblings have been attacked by a gang with a sword and knives in Co Limerick last night. They are currently being treated in hospital after receiving serious injuries to their head and limbs. Two masked men entered the pensioners' home in Ballyluddy and assaulted the three pensioners.

Human Remains Confirmed As Missing Limerick Woman
Human remains found in Galway Bay on 29 November have been confirmed as those of missing Limerick woman, Maria Hennigar. The 35-year-old was reported missing on 22 November, although she had not been seen earlier that month.

Investigation Launched Following Bone Discovery In Co Clare
An investigation has been launched following the discovery of a bone in Co Clare. A bone was found on Thursday, 22 September, on the Shannon riverbank at Doonass, Clonlara, on the Clare-Limerick border. Gardaí were called to the scene and are understood to have examined and photographed the scene before the bone was removed.
