Witnesses For Tallaght Shooting Sought

A call for witnesses to the fatal shooting of a man in Tallaght has been launched by Gardaí.

Officers investigating the fatal shooting of Seamus (Shay) O'Byrne, on the 13th of March are appealing for the public's assistance in establishing the location and movements of a white 5-door Nissan Micra hatchback, registration number 93 MH 3613.

Anyone who may know the current location of the vehicle or have seen the vehicle in the days prior to or since 13th March are being asked to contact the incident room at Tallaght Garda station on 01-6666056.

Gardai investigating the shooting also made an additional arrest on Thursday night. A woman in her late 20s in currently being detained at Rathfarnham Garda Station in connection with the killing.

PSNI Investigating Fatal Collision Near Bready, Co Tyrone
An investigation has been launched following a fatal road traffic collision near Bready, Co Tyrone. At around 1.40pm on Sunday, 07 April, police responded to a report of a single vehicle collision on the Victoria Road. When police arrived it was discovered that a white Seat Leon had left the carriageway close to the junction with Grangefoyle Road.

Over 660 Motorists Found Speeding Over Easter Bank Holidays
More than 660 motorists were caught breaking the speed limit across the Causeway Coast and Glens during the Easter bank holiday weekend – an increase of 22% from 2022. Chief Inspector Sinead McIldowney said: "The Safety Camera Vans were deployed at various locations across the North Coast and the increase in these detections is a worrying trend.

Man Sentenced To Life For Dublin Murder
A Wicklow man has been jailed for life for the gangland murder of a father of two. Garrett O'Brien from Bray was found guilty of the murder of Seamus O'Byrne, 27, in Dublin on 13th March 2009. He was shot five times outside his home at Tymon Park North, Tallaght. His partner and baby son were also at the scene at the time of the attack.
