Appeal For Witnesses To Tallaght Shooting Incident

Gardaí in Tallaght have appealed for witnesses to a shooting incident at Parkhill West on Monday 18 January.

Detectives are searching for a silver Volkswagen Passat that was involved in the incident.

It is understood an unknown number of occupants travelling in the Passat fired a number of shots at a 06-D blue Mazda 3 containing two men.

The driver of the vehicle sustained gunshot injuries but managed to drive to Tallaght Hospital. His injuries are described as serious but not life threatening. The passenger of the Madza was unharmed. The Passat was discovered a short time later partially burned out at Benmadigan Road, Drimnagh.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone in the Parkhill West area of Tallaght between 20:15 and 20:45 to contact Tallaght Garda Station. Any person who may have seen the 00-D-92403 silver VW Passat either at Parkhill West, Tallaght or at Benmadigan Road, Drimnagh on the night of Monday 18th January 2016 is asked to contact Tallaght Garda Station on 01 6666000 or the Garda Confidential Number on 1800 666111.

Missing Tallaght Man Found 'Safe And Well'
A man who had been missing from the Tallaght area has been found 'safe and well', Garda have reported. 30-year-old John Rodgers was reported missing on 11 July. However, Garda said John has now been found and thanked the public for their assistance.

Teen Arrested Following Firearm Seizure
A 19-year-old man has been arrested by gardaí following the seizure of a firearm in Tallaght, Dublin. He was arrested on the Jobstown Road at approximately 12.40am on Tuesday morning. Gardaí were alerted after a man was seen holding a weapon. The male was chased on foot and gardaí disarmed and arrested him.

Man Shot In Leg At His Dublin Home
A man was shot in the leg at his home in Dublin last night. The man, in his 30s, was shot at a number of times, at his house in Tallaght, south Dublin, according to Gardai. He was taken to Tallaght Hospital, and his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. The victim was shot at three times in the leg at his front door.

Garda Investigate Horse Burnt Alive In Tallaght
An investigation is underway after a horse was doused in petrol and burnt alive in the Killinarden area of Tallaght, Dublin. It is the latest in a number of incidents in the area in the last few days, gardaí have said. It is understood that the horse was set on fire in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Help Sought Over Gang Related Killing
An appeal for information into the killing of a man in Dublin has been renewed over two weeks after his death. Gardai at Ballyfermot investigating the death of Jason Martin at Park West on the renewed their appeal to the public today after progress halted in the case.
