Three Arrested Over Ballinlough Robbery

Gardaí investigating last Saturday morning's post office robbery in Ballinlough have arrested two men and a woman in Roscommon town.

All three are being detained at Roscommon Garda Station, the men are aged 27 and 36 years and the woman is 28 years.

The male owner of the post office, who is in his 40s, was held up by three men wearing balaclavas.

According to Gardaí, one of the men was armed with a sawn off shotgun, one was armed with a knife and the other was armed with a hatchet.

They tied up the owner and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The alarm was raised when a member of staff came to work a short time later.

No one was injured during the course of this incident.

Three Held Over Newry Shooting Probe
The police in the North are now questioning three men after a shot assistant was shot in the stomach during a failed armed robbery attempt in Newry at the weekend. It happened at about 11.35pm on Sunday when a man armed with a handgun entered a gaming arcade at Upper Water Street in the border city.

Gardaí investigating the murder of Mikolaj Wilk in Cork have arrested three men. Mr Wilk (35), a Polish national, died after he was attacked by up to four men armed with machetes at his family home in Maglin, near Ballincollig in the early hours of 10 June 2018.

Four Charged In Connection With Post Office Robbery
Four people have appeared in court charged in connection with a post office robbery in Clogherhead, Co Louth. Three men, one armed with a firearm, entered a post office and threatened staff on 03 May. The suspects fled the scene with a large amount of cash.
