Three Men Arrested In Connection With Suspected Armed Robbery
Three men have been arrested in connection with a suspected armed robbery at a shop in Bawnogue Shopping Centre, Clondalkin.
Two masked men threatened shop staff with a suspected firearm and fled the scene with a sum of cash.
When the suspects left they were seen going in the direction of the Lealand estate.
Local Gardaí assisted by the Burglary Response Unit and members from the Special Detective Unit, Harcourt Square, went to the Lealand estate and entered a house where they found three males in their 20's.
They were and a sum of cash was recovered.
The three males were taken to Clondalkin Garda station where they have been detained under the provisions of section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939 as amended. During a follow-up search a firearm was recovered.

Three Held Over Newry Shooting Probe
The police in the North are now questioning three men after a shot assistant was shot in the stomach during a failed armed robbery attempt in Newry at the weekend. It happened at about 11.35pm on Sunday when a man armed with a handgun entered a gaming arcade at Upper Water Street in the border city.

Officers seized the materials when they stopped two cars on the N52 on Tuesday. Two men were arrested at the scene. A third man was arrested during a following up investigation.

Woman Released In Longford Murder Investigation
The woman being held by Gardaí in connection with the death of Sharon Coughlan, has been released without charge. Gardaí in Co Longford arrested three people yesterday. Two men, aged 19 and 28, were still in custody this morning. It is understood their period of detention has been extended.
