Armed Men Arrested Over Two Post Office Robberies
Gardaí in Co Kilkenny are appealing for information on two separate armed robberies of post offices on Monday.
In the first incident three men, one armed with a sawn-off shotgun, entered a post office in Clogherhead at about 11:45.
Garda said officers responded quickly and intercepted the men as they tried to flee the scene, arresting a 25-year-old man and recovering a firearm and quantity of cash.
Two other men, aged 24 and 36, where arrested in a follow up operation.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the incident room at Drogheda Garda Station on 041-987-4200.
In another incident four masked men robbed a post office in Urlingford.
The men were arrested at a garda roadblock a short time later in Freshford.
It is understood that €16,000 was recovered from the car used by the men.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Kilkenny City garda.

A woman has been arrested in connection with an armed raid at a post office in Co Kerry. The suspect was arrested at around 5.30pm in Killarney on Thursday, 04 August. A sum of cash was stolen from Waterville Post Office at around 11am on Wednesday, 03 August. Two men were arrested in the area after the incident.

Three men arrested in connection with an attempted robbery of a Dublin post office have been released without charge. It is understood three masked suspects armed with knives, a crowbar and other implements entered the building on Leonard's Corner at around 12:30pm yesterday, 03 December.

Two Held After Post Office Raid
Gardaí in Co Dublin have arrested two men in connection with the armed robbery of a post office. According to reports two men entered the Clonsilla Post Office at around 10am. They escaped with an undisclosed sum of cash. Garda arrested two men a short time later on the M6, near Tyrrellspass in Co Westmeath.
