Letterkenny Hospital In Dumped Documents Scandal
Letterkenny General Hospital has ordered an investigation the discovery of confidential patients' notes found dumped in a Derry alleyway.
The documents containing three pages of confidential information on headed paper were found in a back lane at Gartan Square in the Bogside area.
Reports have revealed the papers contain the names, dates of birth and medical complaints or conditions of 12 people, including a pregnant woman.
The breach has been described as "totally unacceptable" by the hospital.
The news comes as a doctor working in the North's Mid-Ulster Hospital stands accused of leaving confidential patient records in the kitchen at his shared flat, a hearing was told yesterday.
He denies the allegations, which are being heard by an Investigation Committee of the GMC.

Protection Of Life During Pregnancy Bill Published
The Protection of Life during Pregnancy Bill has been published by the government following approval by the Cabinet. Several significant changes have been made to the outline of the Bill, which was published in April. The Minister for Health will be given the power to stop suspended an institution if deemed to be operating the Act inappropriately.

Woman Killed In Leitrim Road Crash
A woman in her 60's has died in a road collision in County Leitrim. The one-vehicle crash occurred on the Castlecara Road in Carrick-on-Shannon shortly after midday on Thursday 17 January. The woman was the driver of the car. Her body has been taken to University Hospital Sligo where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.

Gardaí Appeal For Witnesses To Alleged Sexual Assault
Gardaí in Dublin are searching for three people in connection with an alleged sexual assault at Cobra Park on Sunday. It is understood that a woman alleges she was attacked in the park, near Phibsborough, at about 19:45 on Sunday night. The woman is being treated at the Rotunda Hospital's sexual assault unit.
