Separate Shootings Under Investigation
Investigations have been launched into two shooting incidents over the weekend.
In the latest incident, a man in his 30s was shot in the hand in North Dublin this morning.
Gardaí in the Swords area of the capital are investigating the shooting which, occurred at a house at Boroimhe, Cedars in Swords at approximately 8.10am this morning.
He has been taken to Beaumont Hospital.
The scene remains sealed off pending a Garda technical investigation.
Anyone who may have information or who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact Swords Garda Station 01- 666 4700, the Garda Confidential Line 1-800-666-111 or any Garda Station.
Shortly before that incident, a shooting incident has also taken place in Limerick.
Gardai at Roxboro Road are appealing for witnesses following the shooting incident, which took place in the Garyglass area of Limerick.
A Garda spokesman said a number of shots were fired through the front window of a house shortly before 2am on Monday morning. There were no reported injuries.
The scene has been preserved for a technical examination.
A man aged in his 20s was arrested and is currently detained under section 30 of the Offences against the State Act at Roxoboro Rd Garda Station.

Men Arrested Following Two Violent Incidents In Athlone
Three men have been arrested in connection with violent incidents in Athlone, Westmeath on Tuesday. In the first incident, a taxi driver, aged in his 70s, was attacked by two male passengers he had picked up on Church Street and driven to Bloomfield Drive. The driver suffered a number of stab wounds during the incident.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene in Aghamore, Ballyhaunis shortly before midnight on Tuesday, 17 September. It is understood the elderly man heard noises outside his property before the shots were fired.

Gardaí investigating a shooting incident outside a west Dublin school have made an arrest. A man, aged in his 20s, was arrested during the course of the search operation in Corduff. He has been detained at Blanchardstown Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939, where he can be held for up to 72 hours.
