Elderly Woman Struck By Car

An elderly woman has been killed after being struck by a car in County Galway last night.

Gardaí in Ballygar, Co. Galway are investigating the fatal road traffic collision that occurred at approximately 7.00pm yesterday evening.

According to Gardaí, the 85 year old female pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene in The Square in Ballygar after being struck by a car.

She was removed to Ballinasloe Mortuary.

Gardai are now appealing to any person who may have witnessed the collision or was in the village of Ballygar at around 7.00pm on the night of Monday 5th January, and have asked anyone with information to contact them at Ballygar Garda Station.

PSNI Investigating Fatal Collision Near Bready, Co Tyrone
An investigation has been launched following a fatal road traffic collision near Bready, Co Tyrone. At around 1.40pm on Sunday, 07 April, police responded to a report of a single vehicle collision on the Victoria Road. Man Dies After Being Struck By Car In Co Galway
A 66-year-old pedestrian has died after he was hit by a car in Co Galway. The accident happened shortly after 12.30am on Monday on the N18. The vehicle also struck a parked Garda car and two officers who were outside the car were injured. The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been removed to The University Hospital Galway.

Woman, 86, Struck By Car
An elderly woman has died after being struck by a car in Co Sligo. The incident happened on the N15 at Cartron, Bundoran Road, at around 6.40pm on Tuesday (9 December). The 86-year-old, who was a pedestrian, was struck by a car. She suffered serious injuries in the accident and was taken to Sligo General Hospital, but was later pronounced dead.

Woman And Son Killed In Co Galway Crash
An investigation has been launched into the death of a woman and her 14-year-old son in a collision in Co Galway. According to reports, the woman and boy died when their car hit a tree at about 9.45pm on Sunday in Ballaghlea, Ballygar. The woman, believed to be aged in her 30s, and the boy were pronounced dead at the scene.

Teenager Missing In Galway
A family has expressed grave concern for the welfare of a teenager who has gone missing from his home in Galway. Gardaí at Ballinasloe are seeking the public's assistance in tracing the whereabouts of the 18-year-old Stephen Donnellan, who was last seen on the Roscommon to Ballygar Road at 3am on Thursday 6th August.
