Woman And Son Killed In Co Galway Crash
An investigation has been launched into the death of a woman and her 14-year-old son in a collision in Co Galway.
According to reports, the woman and boy died when their car hit a tree at about 9.45pm on Sunday in Ballaghlea, Ballygar.
The woman, believed to be aged in her 30s, and the boy were pronounced dead at the scene. Their bodies were taken to University Hospital Galway, where a post-mortem is due to be carried out today, 25 July.
There were no other vehicles involved in the incident.
The scene remains closed pending a garda forensic examination.

Two Die In Separate Fatal Car Crashes
Two people died in separate car crashed on Sunday in Co Clare and Co Galway. A woman in her 20s died in a single-car crash near Ennis, Co Clare, shortly before 4pm when her vehicle struck a barrier. She was travelling with another woman near Ballylion, Barefield, when the incident took place on the northbound lane of the M18.

A woman has died in a road traffic collision in Co Galway. The incident happened on the Oranmore to Craughwell road yesterday 6 July at around 4:20pm. The victim, who was in her fifties, was fatally injured when the car she was driving collided with another vehicle, approximately 3 kilometres from Craughwell. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
