Gardaí Turn Up Ganga Garden
Gardai in Dublin have discovered a cannibas plant nursery at an address in the capital.
Officers seized a large quantity of the cannabis plants in a planned operation at a house on the Blessington Road in Tallaght, yesterday.
The searches were carried out by Garda from the Garda National Drugs Unit, the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation and drug units from Tallaght Garda Station and began at about 8.30am.
In total Gardai seized 717 cannabis plants, which were being cultivated at the location, as well as about 15kgs of harvested product. Subject to analysis the seizure may have a street value of up to €375,000.
There were no arrests and the operation is ongoing.
The news comes just days after Gardaí in Mayo seized 430 cannabis plants, worth €130,000, in Moygownagh. A Chinese national was arrested in Rathmore – four miles from the house under immigration legislation, before being further detained for drug offences.
According to reports, the property raised suspicions due to its high-energy use, sometimes a sign of illegal drug factories.

A man is under arrest over the discovery of suspected cannabis worth an estimated €100,000 in Sligo. €200k Of Cannabis Seized In Dublin
A search of a Dublin address yesterday evening led to the arrest of a man and recovered a cache of cannabis worth nearly €200,000. According to Gardaí this morning, the find is part of an on-going investigation carried out by members of the Crime Task Force attached to the Bridewell Garda Station in Dublin.

Two men have been arrested in connection with a major drug seizure in Dublin that led to the discovery of an estimated €500,000 worth of various drugs. A quantity of drugs worth an estimated €300,000 has been seized during an Operation Thistle operation in Dublin's South City Centre. One kilo of heroin, 1.75kg of cocaine and 1.8kg of cannabis resin were seized during the operation targeting organised criminals in the area. Gardaí from the D.M.R.
