Arrest As €100k Cannabis Seized In Co Sligo

A man is under arrest over the discovery of suspected cannabis worth an estimated €100,000 in Sligo.

Gardaí uncovered the drugs, along with a sum of cash, during a search of a property in Ballymote on Thursday evening, 16 January.

A male in his 30s was arrested and remains in custody at Ballymote Garda Station.

ATM Recovered After Digger Used To Pull It Out Of A Wall
Gardaí in Co Sligo have recovered an ATM machine that was ripped from the wall of Bank of Ireland on Wednesday morning. A digger was used to break a hole in the wall, before pulling the machine free, at around 05:00am in Tubbercurry. The machine was then loaded onto a trailer and driven away.

Appeal Issued For Witnesses To Co Sligo Road Accident
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to a fatal road accident in Castlebaldwin, Co Sligo. Ballymote garda are investigating a collision involving three vehicles and a pedestrian at about 11:40 on Thursday. A man in his 60's was fatally injured when he was struck by a vehicle as he was working on the roadside.
