Four Held In Canal Murder Inquiry Released

Four men arrested on Monday in connection with the death of Darren Guerrine, have been released without charge.

Four males – all believed to be teenagers - were being questioned over the death of 21-year-old Mr Guerrine, who's body had been found in Dublin last month, at in the back of the Jamestown Industrial Estate along the Grand Canal

Mr Guerrine had been shot once in the back of the head with a shotgun.

A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The four people are being held at Kevin Street, Kilmainham and Harcourt Terrace garda stations.

Dublin Canal Murder Victim Named
The man found murdered on the banks of Dublin's Grand Canal on Monday morning has been named as Darren Guerrine. The 21-year-old's body was found shortly before 8am on Monday morning, on the banks of the canal between Kylemore Road and the Naas Road. Post-mortem tests revealed that he had been shot once in the back of the head with a shotgun.

Man Released Following Dublin Shooting
A man has been released without charge after being questioned in connection with the shooting of a boy in Dublin on Friday. The six-year-old was shot in the neck in Ballyfermot. A man was detained on suspicion of withholding information. A file is being prepared for the DPP.
