Garda Station 'Burgled'

An overnight break-in at garda offices in Harcourt Street in Dublin is being investigated.

It is understood that the break-in was discovered shortly after 12:30am on Tuesday morning, when a small fire, which had been started in the building, triggered the smoke alarm. Gardaí put out the fire.

According to reports, a garda uniform was stolen, but it is not thought that any valuable documents were taken.

Gardaí said that they believe that the break-in may have been opportunistic.

The area remains sealed off for a technical examination.

Gardaí have appealed for anyone who was in the Harcourt Street area last night and may have seen something suspicious to contact them.
