Fire Forces Evacuation in Dublin Apartment Complex

An apartment complex in Dublin had to be evacuated in Dublin on Thursday morning after fire broke out in the building.

The fire broke out in the apartment in the Castlegate Grove complex started around 5:30am this morning.

It is understood that the person inside the apartment was taken to James Connolly Memorial Hospital in Blanchardstown to be treated for smoke inhalation.

Man Charged In Connection With Gareth Hutch Murder
A man has been charged in connection with the murder of Gareth Hutch in Dublin last week. Mr Hutch, 35, was shot at around 10am by two gunmen as he got into his car in the Avondale House Apartment complex on Tuesday, 24 May. The 29-year-old suspect was charged on Tuesday evening and appeared before Criminal Courts of Justice today, 01 June.

Gardaí have launched a murder investigation into the death of a man whose body was found in an apartment in Clontarf in Dublin on Wednesday. The body of 50-year-old Finbar Dennehy was found in the Merchamp apartment complex on Seafield Road East on Wednesday.

Memorial Service Held At UCD For Berkeley Victims
A memorial service has been held at University College Dublin for the six students that died when a balcony collapsed at an apartment complex in Berkeley, California, earlier this week. Three of the students were studying at UCD; Eimear Walsh and Lorcán Miller were studying medicine, and Niccolai Schuster was studying history and politics.
