Man Dies Following Dublin Apartment Fire

An investigation has been launched into the cause of a fatal fire at an apartment complex in Dublin city centre.

A man, aged in his 60s, has died in the Mater Hospital as a result of the fire.

The fire happened at the building on Benburb Street at around 8.30pm on Tuesday, 01 January.

Gardaí are investigating the cause of the fire and have appealed for anyone with any information to contact them.

Up To 200 Escape Tower Block Fire

A 29-year-old man charged with torching the home of his ex-girlfriend in Dublin last weekend has been remanded in custody for a further two weeks. Last Sunday night several occupants of the house on the South Circular Road were rescued by garda using a ladder.

Apartment Complex Fire Investigated
An investigation has been launched into the cause of a fire at an apartment complex in Dublin city on Wednesday afternoon. The apartments in Love Lane, Dublin 2, were evacuated when firefighters were called just after 14:30 yesterday.
