Murder Investigation Launched Into Clontarf Man's Death

Gardaí have launched a murder investigation into the death of a man whose body was found in an apartment in Clontarf in Dublin on Wednesday.

The body of 50-year-old Finbar Dennehy was found in the Merchamp apartment complex on Seafield Road East on Wednesday.

It is understood that a friend of the dead man found the body covered and lying on a couch. It has also been revealed that his hands had been bound and a bag was tied over his head.

A post-mortem revealed that he had been violently assaulted and stabbed.

Mr Dennehy was a single man who had lived alone in the apartment complex for 20 years.

Gardaí are studying CCTV footage from the apartment building and conducting door-to-door enquiries. They have also urged anyone who was around the Merchamp apartment complex to contact them.

Missing Co Mayo Man Found 'Safe And Well'
Missing Co Mayo man, David Duffy, has been found safe and well, garda have reported. Garda had issued an appeal for help in tracing 36-year-old Mr Duffy, who had not been seen since Sunday. Garda have thanked the public for their help and said that no further action is needed.

A body discovered at an apartment block in Cork city centre on Monday evening has still not been identified. A post mortem on the mans body is to be carried out Cork University Hospital, as a forensic examination of the scene at the City Garden apartment complex on North Main Street began at 12:00 on Tuesday.

Gardai have launched an investigation following the discovery of a woman's body in a house in Dublin. The body of the 43-year-old was found in a house in Rathgar Road in Rathmines just before midnight on Wednesday. A forensic examination is being carried out and the body remains at the scene.

Mr Hutch, 35, was shot at around 10am by two gunmen as he got into his car in the Avondale House Apartment complex on Tuesday, 24 May. The 29-year-old suspect was charged on Tuesday evening and appeared before Criminal Courts of Justice today, 01 June.

Gardaí have launched a murder investigation following the discovery of a 2-year-old boy's body at an apartment in South Dublin. It is understood officers found the body at about 15:00 on Thursday at an apartment in Ridge Hall, Ballybrack. The child was pronounced dead at the scene.
