Teen Injured In Dublin Accident
A 16-year-old boy has been seriously injured after being hit by a truck in O'Connell Street in Dublin on Monday morning.
It is understood that the teenager was struck after the truck mounted the central median near the Spire around 8.20am.
He has been taken to the Mater Hospital, suffering from serious injuries.
Northbound traffic in O'Connell has now been reduced to one lane, the bus lane, which is now open to all traffic.
Motorists are being asked to avoid the area if possible.

Man Held Over Westmeath Hit-And-Run
Gardaí have arrested a man aged in his 20s in connection with a hit-and-run in Westmeath on Tuesday. A 38-year-old man was left seriously injured after being hit by a car at about 15:00 at Magheraboy Upper in Westmeath. Garda confirmed they are holding a man in connection with the incident.

Gardaí have said that the man, who is in his mid-40s, was found at around 21:25 on Tyrconnell Road in Inchicore, Dublin 8. He is being treated at St James Hospital and his condition is described as critical.

A pensioner remains in a serious condition in hospital after he was hit by a vehicle in Waterford City yesterday. The 81-year-old man was struck by a 4a4 vehicle on the Cork Road at approximately 2.30pm. He is believed to be in a serious condition in Waterford Regional Hospital. Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.
