Deadly Road Toll In Weekend Crashes
One person was killed and seven people injured in two separate road crashes on Sunday.
One incident happened near Tulla village in Co Clare around 3am on Sunday. A 29-year-old man was killed when the car he was driving hit a ditch and overturned.
Seven people were also injured in another crash involving one car on the M1 Dublin to Belfast Road around lunchtime on Sunday.
The incident happened just north of the Boyne Bridge. Those who were injured are not believed to have suffered life-threatening injuries.

Hit-And-Run Accused Released
A man (33) has been released after being arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run in Co Wicklow yesterday evening. An elderly woman, (79) was killed when she was hit by a vehicle in Killeager, the Scalp, near Enniskerry. A file has been sent by gardaí to the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Gardaí named the 31 year old woman killed in a car crash in Co Kilkenny yesterday as Alena Svobodova with and address at Middleknock, Dublin Road, Co Kilkenny. Ms Svobodova, a native of the Czech Republic, was fatally injured when her car collided with a truck on the main Kilkenny-to-Waterford road (N9) at Barretstown, Knocktopher at about 6.

Road crashes have again claimed lives with news that two people died in separate road accidents in Co Kildare and Co Tipperary. A 51-year-old man died in hospital in the early hours of this morning after he was knocked down and fatally injured by a car in Carbury, Co Kildare, at around 8.30pm last night.

Two Cyclists Injured In Separate Road Crashes
Two cyclists are being treated in hospital following separate road crashes in Dublin on Tuesday evening, 16 August. A male cyclist was involved in a collision with a car shortly before 6pm outside Terenure College. The cyclist was taken to Tallaght Hospital after being treated at the scene by garda and emergency services.
