Cannabis Seized In Dublin

Cannabis with an estimated street value of €1.5 billion as been seized during raids in Dublin.

It is understood that 40 kilos of cannabis was discovered by officers from the Garda National Drugs Unit in a car, which was stopped near Chapelizod on Tuesday evening.

The driver of the car, believed to be a 25-year-old Irish man, was arrested. He is being held at Clondalkin Garda station under Section Two of the Drug Trafficking Act.

Another 160 kilos of the drug was was subsequently found in a search in the Dublin 8 area.

Three men have been arrested in Dublin in connection with the discovery of drugs in the Dublin area. Gardaí reported today that the arrests were made as part of an ongoing intelligence led operation into the sale and supply of drugs in the Dublin area.

€200k Of Cannabis Seized In Dublin
A search of a Dublin address yesterday evening led to the arrest of a man and recovered a cache of cannabis worth nearly €200,000. According to Gardaí this morning, the find is part of an on-going investigation carried out by members of the Crime Task Force attached to the Bridewell Garda Station in Dublin.

Arrests Follow 500K Drug Seizure
Two men have been arrested in connection with a major drug seizure in Dublin that led to the discovery of an estimated €500,000 worth of various drugs. In a statement released this morning, Gardai said they had seized the drugs and arrested the two males following an intelligence lead operation in Dublin yesterday.

7kg Cannabis Seized In Dublin
Gardai have seized 7kg of cannabis after they carried out a search on a car in Dublin on Monday. It has an estimated street value of €140,000. Members of the Crime Source Unit at Mountjoy Garda station discovered the drugs in the vehicle at Belvedere Avenue. The car has been seized, however no arrests were made.

Two Charged Over Cross-Border Drugs Seizure
Two men arrested in relation to a cross-border drugs operation have been charged. They will appear before Dublin District Court at the CCJ, Pargate Street, at 10.30am today. Drugs with an estimated street value of €420,000 was seized as part of an ongoing cross-border operation. The men arrested, aged 26 and 29, were both detained in Finglas.

Two Arrested Over Cannabis Seized In North Co Dublin
Cannabis worth an estimated €1.7m has been seized in north county Dublin in a joint operation by Customs officers and Garda Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau. Approximately 85kgs of the drug was seized on Wednesday after it arrived concealed in a freight consignment from Spain.

Cannabis Worth €2m Seized And Three Arrested
Cannabis with an estimated value of almost €2m has been seized in counties Kildare and Dublin on Thursday afternoon. Some €600,000 worth of the drugs were recovered when a van and a car were stopped by members of the Garda National Drugs Unit along with officers from the Organised Crime Unit at Castlewarden, Co Kildare.

Two South African women and a Portuguese male have been arrested after a drug haul worth half a million Euro was seized at Dublin Airport. The arrests came following a large scale operation by the Santry Drugs Unit and the Revenue's Customs Service.

Four Face Cannabis Charges
Four men appeared in court this afternoon on charges relating to the seizure of 120kgs of cannabis resin with an estimated street value of €800,000. They were charged under Sections 3 and 15 of the Misuse of Drugs Act and were remanded in custody until April 24 when they are due to appear before Cloverhill District Court.

Three Held In Dublin Drugs Seizure
Police drug unit officers have been busy in Dublin, locating and seizing a huge haul of illegal drugs, said to be worth around €1.4 million. Gardai from Dundrum, assisted by the specialist Blackrock Drug Unit made the discovery following a planned search of a house in Carrickmines last night.

Cannabis Seized At Dublin Port
Customs officers have seized cannabis worth an estimated street value of €20,000 at Dublin Port. The drugs were found on Tuesday hidden in a vehicle that had arrived from Holyhead. Revenue Customs Service say that the drugs were uncovered during "routine profiling" at the port. Gardaí have arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with the find.
