Gardaí Appeal for Witnesses After Fatal Bicycle Incident in Limerick City

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a fatal road traffic incident occurred on the Dublin Road, Mountshannon, Limerick City, on Tuesday 26th May 2026.

The incident, which involved a bicycle, took place shortly after 2:00pm. Following the event, the male cyclist, who was aged in his 40s, left the scene and travelled to a domestic residence. He received medical treatment from emergency services but was pronounced deceased during the afternoon of Tuesday 26th May 2026.

An investigation into the incident is currently ongoing. Gardaí are urging anyone who witnessed the event to come forward.

Additionally, road users who were travelling on the Dublin Road in Mountshannon, Limerick City, between 1:30pm and 2:10pm on Tuesday 26th May 2026, and who may have camera footage (including dash-cam recordings), are asked to provide this to the investigating Gardaí.
