Gardaí Appeal for Information Following Shooting Incident in Limerick
Gardaí have launched an investigation into all the circumstances surrounding the discharge of a firearm at a residence on Hyde Avenue in Ballinacurra Weston, Limerick, on the afternoon of Sunday 19th July 2026.
Emergency services alongside Gardaí arrived at the scene following reports of the incident, which occurred at approximately 4:30pm. A man aged in his 60s was transported to University Hospital Limerick for treatment of serious injuries, where his condition is currently listed as stable.
The area has been preserved to enable a full technical examination by investigators.
Gardaí are appealing to any witnesses who may have been in the area to step forward. Specifically, anyone who was present near Hyde Road and Ballinacurra Weston between 3:45pm and 4:45pm on Sunday 19th July 2026 and has camera or dash-cam footage is asked to share this with investigating officers.
Anyone with information is requested to contact Roxboro Road Garda Station on (061) 214 340, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station. Enquiries remain ongoing.
