Woman Assaulted & Robbed In Co Cork

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a woman was robbed and assaulted in Co Cork.

The incident happened on the Castle Road in the town of Bandon early on Sunday morning, 01 December.

Investigators said she was approached by a man while walking on the route at around 3am. The individual stole her handbag, knocked her to the ground and assaulted her.

Three men then came to her assistance.

Gardaí are hunting a suspect who is described as 6ft tall and was wearing black clothing with 'PUMA' written across the jumper.

Anyone who saw the suspect that evening or was in the Castle Road area between 2.45am and 3.30am is urged to get in touch.

The victim did not require medical attention and no arrests have been made.

People Urged Not To Call 999 Over Covid-19 Testing
People who suspect they might need a test for Covid-19 are being urged to not call 999 or 112 as these emergency services must be used "for the work they do". Help Sought Following Assault On Woman
Witnesses are being sought after a woman was seriously assaulted last Thursday night in Co Limerick. Gardaí at Roxboro Road Garda Station in the city are investigating the serious assault and are looking for the publics help. The incident took place on Thursday 29th May, between 12.30am and 2.00am.

Teen Sexually Assaulted Outside Home
An investigation has been launched after a teenage girl was sexually assaulted outside her home in Crumlin, south Dublin. It is understood the girl was standing at her front door when she was grabbed by a man and dragged to the side of the house, where she was attacked. Garda searched the area after the incident was reported to them around 01.

Teenager Killed In Lanzarote Is Named
An Irish tourist killed in Lanzarote has been named as Derek Cumiskey from Townsend Street in Dublin. Mr Cumiskey was on holiday with his sister and some friends when he was fatally assaulted yesterday.
