Two Men And Woman Arrested In Kevin Lunney Investigation

Gardaí investigating the kidnapping and torture of Quinn Industrial Holdings director Kevin Lunney have arrested two men and a woman.

Mr Lunney was attacked on 17 September as he made his way home from work. The 50-year-old father-of-six was found bleeding on a remote roadside in Co Cavan after being abducted outside his home in Derrylin, Co Fermanagh.

The arrests were made during a garda operations in Kells, Cavan and Monaghan.

One man is aged in his 20s while the other is in his 40s; the woman is aged in her 50s.

Other searches were carried out in Cavan, Longford and Dublin.

Gardaí and the PSNI have established a joint team to investigate a campaign of intimidation, including death threats, targeting the QIH directors.

The chief suspect in the investigation, Cyril McGuiness, died during a police raid in the UK last week.

Man Arrested In Connection With Abduction And Assault Of Kevin Lunney
Gardaí investigating the abduction and assault of Kevin Lunney have made another arrest. The man, aged in his 50s, is currently detained in Cavan Garda Station under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007. Mr Lunney, a director of Quinn Industrial Holdings was abducted and subjected to a prolonged attack in September 2019.

Investigation Launched Into Woman's Death In Cavan
Gardai have launched an investigation after the body of a woman was found in a house in Cavan. It is understood that the body of the woman, believed to be in her forties, was discovered in a house just before midnight on Saturday. The body was taken to Cavan General Hospital and the state pathologist was notified.

Four people have been arrested in connection with the abduction and attack on Kevin Lunney on 17 September, 2019. The arrests were made by officers from the Joint Investigation Team, made up of the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) and An Garda Síochána.

Two Further Men Arrested In Connection With Kevin Lunney Investigation
Two men have been arrested by gardaí investigating the abduction of Kevin Lunney on 17 September 2019. A male, aged 25 years, has been arrested in the Dublin Region for an offence contrary to Section 73 Criminal Justice Act 2006 and is being detained under Section 50 Criminal Justice Act 2007 at Irishtown Garda station.

Woman Released Without Charge Over Donegal Murder
A woman arrested in connection with the murder of Seamus Donnelly has been released without charge. Mr Doherty was killed at his home in Drumacanoo on 17 June 2012. The woman, 57, was released this morning. A man, 51, who was arrested on Wednesday is still being questioned by garda.
