Man Arrested In Connection With Abduction And Assault Of Kevin Lunney

Gardaí investigating the abduction and assault of Kevin Lunney have made another arrest.

The man, aged in his 50s, is currently detained in Cavan Garda Station under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007.

Mr Lunney, a director of Quinn Industrial Holdings was abducted and subjected to a prolonged attack in September 2019.

Mr Lunney, who has been the target of sustained intimidation campaign, was held in a horsebox where he was beaten, sliced on the face and hands with a Stanley knove, had QIH carved into his chest, his leg broken and doused in bleach. He was later dumped by the side of the road in Co Cavan.

Yesterday's arrest follows the arrest of four other men last week.

Man Arrested Over Dublin Bluebell Shooting
A man has been arrested in Dublin in connection with the shooting of a man on Bluebell Avenue around midnight last night. Gardai at Kevin St and Kilmainham said they are investigating the shooting, which occurred outside a premise on Bluebell Avenue, Kilmaimham, Dublin. A 30-year-old male was injured after the discharge of a firearm.

Men Arrested Over Santry Cannabis Seizure
Cannabis worth an estimated €150,000 has been seized from a home in Larchill, Santry in Dublin, on Saturday. Gardaí arrested four men in connection with the find. They are due to appear in court on Monday.

Men Arrested Over €1m Cocaine And Heroin Find
Heroin and cocaine, with an estimated street value of €1m, has been recovered in a house search in Ballyfermot on Tuesday. Gardaí arrested two men, aged in their 30s, at the scene after officers uncovered 13kgs of cocaine worth an estimated €900,000 and 1.5kgs of heroin, with an estimated value of €225,000.
