Appeal For Information On Fatal Shooting In Co Meath

An investigation has been launched following a fatal shooting in Bettystown, Co Meath.

According to reports, a 39-year-old was shot a number of times outside a house at Castlemartin Drive on the Eastham Road shortly before midnight.

The man was pronounced dead at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, at around 1am.

The scene has been sealed-off for a forensic examination.

It is understood that following the incident a small van was found on fire at Eastham Road and is believed to have been connected to the shooting.

Garda have said that the shooting may be linked to an ongoing feud in Drogheda.

Gardaí are appealing to any witnesses or anyone with information, particularly any motorists who were driving through the area and who may have dash-cam footage, to contact Ashbourne Garda Station on 01-801 0600, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.

Man Arrested In Connection With Dublin Shooting Incident
Gardaí investigating a shooting incident outside a west Dublin school have made an arrest. A man, aged in his 20s, was arrested during the course of the search operation in Corduff. He has been detained at Blanchardstown Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939, where he can be held for up to 72 hours.

A woman has been arrested in connection with a shooting incident in Limerick on Monday. Christy Keane was shot a number of times in the chest and arms. He is currently in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

Two Arrested Following Dublin Shooting
A man and a teenage boy have been arrested in connection with a shooting in Finglas in north Dublin. The shooting happened at Ratoath Drive around 10:30pm on Tuesday. A 34-year-old was shot with a sawn-off shotgun and received minor injuries to his head and face. A 14-year-old and a 19-year-old were arrested shortly after the shooting.

Ninth Arrest Over Limerick Murder
Another arrest has been made in connection with the murder of Jeffery Hannon. Gardai at Roxboro Road Garda station investigating the murder of, father of two, Jeffrey Hannon last night arrested a male in his late teens in the midlands area. He is currently being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice at Roxboro Road Garda Station.

Two Arrested Over O'Halloran Murder
Two men have been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of Dublin man Stephen O'Halloran in January. Gardai investigating the incident arrested two men in the Tallaght area on Tuesday. The two men are aged 25 years and 19 years and have both been detained at Tallaght Garda Station.
