Man Arrested In Connection With Dublin Shooting Incident

Gardaí investigating a shooting incident outside a west Dublin school have made an arrest.

A man, aged in his 20s, was arrested during the course of the search operation in Corduff. He has been detained at Blanchardstown Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939, where he can be held for up to 72 hours.

A lone gunman fired a number of shots from a handgun at two men as they waited outside Riversdale Community College on Blanchardstown Road North at about 3.40pm on Wednesday.

No-one was injured in the shooting incident, which has been widely condemned as it occurred in broad daylight and just as a busy school was about to be let out for the day.

Gardaí are continuing to appeal for witnesses who may have been in the vicinity of the Community College between 3pm and 3.40pm yesterday to contact them at Blanchardstown Garda Station.

In particular, they are looking for anyone who was driving along Blanchardstown Road North or Corduff Grove and who may have dashcam footage.
