Men Arrested In Connection With Seizure Of Loaded Firearms

Two men, aged in their 30s, have been arrested in connection with firearm seizures in Dublin.

At about 4am this morning garda stopped and searched a car in the Kilmore area of Coolock. During the search a loaded revolver and pistol were discovered.

It is understood that the search was part of an ongoing investigation into organised crime groups.

Both men were arrested under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939/98.

Two Charged Over Cross-Border Drugs Seizure
Two men arrested in relation to a cross-border drugs operation have been charged. They will appear before Dublin District Court at the CCJ, Pargate Street, at 10.30am today. Drugs with an estimated street value of €420,000 was seized as part of an ongoing cross-border operation. The men arrested, aged 26 and 29, were both detained in Finglas.

Three men have been arrested after a firearm and quantity of drugs were seized in west Dublin. Members of the Ronanstown Drugs Unit stopped and searched a car at about 18:50 on Monday in Clondalkin. During the search they recovered a shot gun and seized a quantity of cocaine.

Man Arrested During Firearms Seizure In Portlaoise
A man has been arrested after a number of firearms were seized in Co Laoise. Gardai arrested the 27-year-old man and seized a number of firearms in a planned operation along the M7 motorway outside Portlaoise on Thursday at about 3pm.

Cash And Car Seized In Traffic Stop
Gardaí have seized a large amount of cash, a sports car and documentation as part of an operation investigation the Kinahan crime gang. Two men were arrested when gardaí stopped and searched a car, seizing €800,000 in cash. Two men, one from Dublin and one from Sligo, were arrested and questioned on suspicion of money laundering.

Four Men Arrested Following Discovery Of Suspect Device
Four men have been arrested in connection with a suspect device in Co Longford. It is understood that the men were detained after garda found a suspected improvised explosive device in a car travelling on the R392 at Forgney, close to Ballymahon.
